2013 CAS Plan

 Creativity

 I am going to draw my final work for 'Maiko San' which would be
an assembly of my all ideas and techniques that have been developed during the whole project.
 As soon as I'll finish the project, I wa
nt move on to new one. I have not come up with ideas, but I hope it would be something related to Russia and its culture.

 Activity

 As I spend most of my free time available for CAS on service and creativity, I will just continue the everyday exercises for activity. I've been gradually increasing the amount of exercises I do which shows my strength being improved over time. I want to challenge some new exercises and rearrange the details of the whole exercises.

 Service
 Since my mother offered to me to help in the church, I would like to work there as often as possible. Unfortunately, I don’t have really much time available. So my target would be to help there at least twice a month. I also hope to improve my Russian
skill and learn Russian culture through the service.

Helping in the church 2 - Christmas Service.

(06.12.12)

 Today I helped in the church to prepare for the Christmas Service which is going to be held in the midnight. I cleaned up the candelabrums and icons. I also swabbed the floor and helped to cook for the Christmas dinner. It took about 3 hours to finish all these tasks.
 I am not sure about when I'll be able to help there again since the school will start soon, but I hope it'll be within 2 weeks :)

Learning outcomes;
- Worked collaboratively with others
-Undertake new challenges - Developed new skills
 - Increase awareness of my strengths and areas for growth
- shown perseverance and commitment in activities
- Considered the ethical implications of actions

Art Project- Watercolors

 This was my final practicing of drawing Maiko San. I could not decide whether to use water colours or pencils. Although I am quite satisfied with this work, it took too much time for me to draw. As you can see the kimono lacks of details and the Maiko’s skin does not really look good. In my opinion, the advantage of using water colors is that the drawing s can look real. However, my woks do not have this kind of advantage, and there is no point for me to use water colors. I always preferred to use pencils and I like the atmosphere that white-and-black drawings create. I’m also interested in my ability to show the gorgeousness by using simple pencils.
 Therefore I decided to use pencils. But if the work does not take too much time, I may draw another one by water-colors just to entertain myself.
Learning outcomes are;
-Increase awareness of my strengths and areas for growth
 -Undertake new challenges
 -Planned and initiative ativities
 -Developed new skills

Helping in the church - The new year service

 (30.12.12) My mother helps in the church called 'храм воздвижения креста господня на чистом вражке' as a member of the volunteer group. And she's invited me to help there for the New Year service. I also go to this church and so I already knew the clergymen and other people who work there. Today I cleaned up the candelabrums and the icons. I was very glad that I did not miss this opportunity. Today, I could not only do my CAS but I could also practice my Russian and actually communicate with Russian people (which I used to hate because of my bad russian), and learn Russian culture. I myself am Russian-Christian, but I'd never been interested iRussian Orthodox Church. Through this CAS, I understood that I should go to church more often, and try to have contact with Russian culture.  Next time I am going to help for Christmas service (6th and 7th).

Learning outcomes;
- Worked collaboratively with others
-Undertake new challenges - Developed new skills
 - Increase awareness of my strengths and areas for growth
- shown perseverance and commitment in activities
- Considered the ethical implications of actions

Art Project - pencils

 yukata is a Japanese garment, a casual summer kimono usually made of cotton or synthetic fabric, and unlined. Today I wanted to practice drawing a person full length. Yukata is much easier to draw compare to Kimono. I drew without a model which was quiet difficult for me as I prefer reproducing or using a model photo. It took 2 minutes to make a sketch, and 20 minutes for drawing. I understood that I can produce a better work with details in much shorter time then when I use water-colors. So I might use a pencil for my final work which I am going to do within a month. I’ve already started to make some ideas for the final piece, and I’ve made some sketches.

Art Project- water colors 2

 This time I drew Japanese traditional style 'Mikaeri Bijin' which can be translated as Beauty looking back. The famous 'Mikaeri Bijin Zu' was drawn by Hishikawa Moronobu in Edo Period. This time I drew Mikaeri Bijin in my own style. I used water colors which turned out to be a very good choice. It took only about one hour and a half to draw. I’m very glad that I could manage my time to use efficiently. But I realized that I have many things to learn and practice. Next time, I will use either chalks or water colors again.

INTERNATIONAL DAY 3

 Our plan worked very well and I think people enjoyed Team Japan very much :)
The quiz was very interesting and we provided useful information about Japan and its culture. Everybody liked Chihiro's snacks, and Fukuwarai entertained people very well. It was a bit difficult to organize in the end, because all of us were really tired. And I was really nervous to talk in front of everybody, but as I promised Chihiro and Shun to take the chair and organize the presentation and the game, I tried all me best. I knew that I made some mistakes in English, but I tried to look confident. This opportunity made me a much more better communicator than before:D

 But I'm sure it wrothed that. I'm very proud of what we've done.
When time was left, we decided to show Shun's CAS film and play another Japanese game, Yamanote Sen Game. So we could take proper steps to meet the situation which is awesome! :D
  However, I thought it would be better if we've had a rehearsal. But we still did a great job.
